Bricks as Storytellers

Some residents of Ransom Place are old enough to remember when these few remaining blocks were part of a much larger neighborhood, a rich urban fabric of people and places; with longstanding businesses, churches, and other community pillars. On the other hands, some residents don’t give a thought to the parking lots they pass on their walks, never realizing what once filled the spaces now given over to parked cars. As we reimagine the future and hope to see Indiana Avenue thrive once again as a street bustling with life and connection, we invite those who have been a part of her history to help lay the groundwork for the way forward. Whether you add a family member’s name, a favorite haunt, or what Indiana Avenue meant to you, we hope you will contribute a brick with a meaningful inscription.
